MA Clinical Psychology
Jane Schneider: Clinical Psychologist for the Tweed Coast, Byron Shire and Telehealth. Her office is located in Pottsville.
Face to Face, Telehealth, and out-of-office appointments are available. School meetings and observations can be organised.
Jane is an experienced Clinical Psychologist and Board-approved Supervisor, with a warm, compassionate, and integrative therapeutic approach.
Therapy is offered for adults, children, youth, and parents; and for a range of concerns including:
- anxiety (including separation anxiety and social anxiety)
- depression (including pre- and post-natal)
- stress and adjustment
- burn out
- grief and loss
- trauma (including complex trauma and PTSD)
- attachment and parenting
- behaviour and emotion regulation
- addiction
- relationship difficulties
- and concerns experienced with neurodiversity.
Training:
Jane has a Master’s of Clinical Psychology and holds national registration with AHPRA with endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist. She is a Board-approved Supervisor. Jane also has a Bachelor’s degree with Honours in Fine Art / Sculpture, which contributes to a creative process.
Jane draws on her training and experience in:
- Mindful and Compassion focused therapies
- Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
- Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
- Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Expressive and Synergetic Play and Attachment-Based Family and Behavioural interventions
- Polyvagal and Nervous System support strategies
- Trauma informed interventions.
These all support an integrative process that is present and person-centred. Jane engages in ongoing training and supervision to continuously grow and nurture her practice.
Experience:
Jane has worked for NSW Health in inpatient and community settings for over ten years. She has worked as a Child and Family Specialist on the Whole Family Team, and as Youth and Family clinician. In her private practice, Jane supports adults, children, youth, and parents. She has experience facilitating groups in DBT and in Mindful Self Compassion. She also works at Bond University and supports other psychologists as a Board-approved supervisor.
Jane is passionate about supporting people to create joyful, nurturing, kind, and compassionate relationships with themselves and others.
About Jane:
Jane has a calm, playful, creative, and compassionate nature. She is a mother of two grown children and has lived in the Northern Rivers area for over 30 years. She has a life experience of living and growing up in several different cultures; thus, has great appreciation and respect for individual, spiritual, cultural, and ideological differences. She has been a wildlife carer, and has trained in martial arts. Her self-care practices include yoga, meditation, bouncing, gardening, hiking, forest bathing, swimming in the ocean, reading, music, and watching comedies. She is currently practising and encouraging others to go slowly, kindly and gently.
